Lets be clear – I hate google reviews, and have never used it. Until now. That’s because I’ve recently experienced some truly excellent service. It can be hard finding good Tradies that you trust but when you do, its gold. So this relates to getting a new roof on my house and I still can’t believe how easy and painless it was. Truly. I mean, I thought it would take ages, I’d have to manage extra costs and I’d need to deal with potential leaks while the roof was off (given how variable the weather has been), and all manner of other things. But instead, the whole process felt more like magic… I got a msg when the scaffolding was going up, then that the work was starting. I had a few days of work being done, and then it was finished. Just like that. Even though there was issues with some of the old wiring in my roof that caused complications (which they sent photos and organised an electrician to come and fix so I didn’t have to stress about it or delay the roof) – and thank goodness they alerted me to it! I still can’t believe how easy it was. So here I am, writing a google review, which I don’t normally do but it’s the least I can do to say thank you to Paul Milne Roofing, the company who essentially took a whole lot of stress out of my life. My neighbours have even commented on the quality of the work – these guys know what they are doing!

The innital leak repairs were attended to promptly. When not satisfied with ridge pointing without any prompting returned and made good. Overall the wait for roof painting and other work was worth it getting a professional job completed. Through the process regular quality control inspections, communication 💯 by phone and text was excellent. A great company, good communication and lovely frontline staff.We got rid of a section of asbestos roofing…replaced with color steel with a re-screw and repaint of the rest of the newer roof. We contacted Paul Milne for a quote for selective roof nail replacement and lichen spraying. Ryan was the only company representative who bothered to get up and look at our single story roof before giving a quote. Ryan from the first contact was clear about our options, explained the issues he found, and was great arranging the first steps. The work was started and finished within the agreed time frames. The roofing manage and central office communications were clear and friendly. As far as we know, our repaired roof is functioning better than it was. Paul Milne will be our first port of call for roofing things from now on.

We had a leak in our roof repaired, had the roofing nails replaced with screws and had the roof painted. Paul Milne split the services into different crews so having a central point of contact is really usefulThe way the crews are set up means that each piece of work has a rough time frame when the crews will be on-site. All the guys were really nice and competent and the quality of work is excellent.One note – when painting the roof the first step is to waterblast any flaky paint. I assumed that the blasted paint would be cleaned up after it was blasted off but it was left laying on the ground around the house for us to clean up.There is a long list for roof painting as it is weather dependent. We waited around 8 months. The repair and re-screw all happened much quicker – withing 4-6 weeks

I contacted Paul Milne Roofing as it was a known quantity ( they had recently done work several doors down the road, they were based not too far from where I worked and most importantly, they were not the roofing contractor that a colleague recently used and had nothing but trouble with).Ryan called on us and proved to be very knowledgeable indeed.He did not try to up-sell and gave an honest opinion of our roof, noting it’s age to with-in a year and talking of the quality of the roof and options to re-store the roof.Ryan supplied exactly what we were looking for at this point (knowledge and ‘ball-park prices).While we are in the early stages of planning our roof restoration, we have a really good vibe about Ryan and Paul Milne Roofing and feel confident that they are a trusted roofing business.

We got a leak contract with Paul Milne, after inheriting a leak in our study, when we bought our house in 1990. Several other firms had tried to unsuccessfully fix it before this.Under the contract Paul Milne said they would keep coming back, until the leak was fixed, at no extra cost. After several years they eventually fixed the leak in Spring 2024.Paul Milne also agreed to replace the damaged ceiling in our study.Both tasks have now been completed and we are very satisfied with the outcome.

We have lived in this house for 6 years and constantly suffered from a particular leak, which had seemed to be there for a long time before we moved in. Paul Milne’s Team perfectly fixed it and the roof hasn’t been leaking even a drop of water in heavy spring rain.The previous roofer we used couldn’t fix this problem. Since we didn’t have enough money, we often went with cheaper options but found that we could lose more money with it. The previous roofer didn’t investigate the cause of the problems. Just guessed and did something a couple of times, but their job never worked. Conversely, Paul Milne’s job was professional and thorough from the beginning. They were not the cheapest ones, however, with many failures including gardeners, plumbers, educational courses etc. we experienced in the past, we soon realized what they said was honest, trustworthy and logical. I believe if we don’t have knowledge of a particular field, we need to decide whether we want to go with the people or not. We must see people.The roofers who were in charge of our problem were professional in their attitude throughout their job. We found that our problem was one of the trickiest ones, and they couldn’t fix it at once, but they never made an excuse, didn’t give up and finally succeeded. Although they needed to come back a couple of times to complete the job, they didn’t charge extra money for this job. We felt their pride as a professional and were pretty much inspired by their attitude.Because of unpredictable and unstable weather, we sometimes needed to wait for a couple of months. However, they kept in touch, and we felt at ease about the problem.On a side note, the previous roofer who couldn’t fix our roof said, “We did a lot of work on the roof. If it’s still leaking, the weatherboard can be the cause of the problem”, which Paul Milne’s roofers proved to be completely wrong. We would have lost an extra 1000 dollars.It is free to choose cheaper options, however, we would go as far as to say that if Paul Milne can’t fix your problem, no one can do it. We gather if the faulty design of tiles or construction of the roof is the cause of a leak, it’s almost impossible to fix the problem. However, except for that, we can say that Paul Milne’s Team is one of the most dependable and professional people we’ve ever worked with.

Paul Milne Roofing has just resolved a leak our property had for over 10 years, which multiple roofers could not repair over the time. We are very happy to find that, finally, there is no leaking in the recent heavy rain.The assessor from Paul Milne Roofing was punctual and thoroughly inspected the leak from the inside and outside. He asked some questions about the work done by pervious roofers, but we couldn’t explain them well because we never received proper explanations on what they did. We felt he was candid, very knowledgeable, and knew what he was talking about.When he gave us a quote for the leak repair job, we felt the amount was a bit high, but he explained in detail the nature of the problem and what they needed to do to detect the root cause and repair the leak, and we felt what he said was reasonable.We never received such an explanation from the previous roofer who also explained the difficulty in fixing leaks and said they couldn’t guarantee the leak would be fixed in one go. They told us that the leak repair was the process of elimination and they carried out some work a couple of times, but the leak wasn’t fixed at all. Each quote they gave us was less than Paul Milne Roofing’s quote, but the total cost we paid to them was close to Paul Milne Roofing’s one.We were satisfied at the end that the amount wasn’t high based on what Paul Milne Roofing assessor told us and decided to go ahead.It took Paul Milne Roofing four attempts to fix the leak, but they did not charge any extra for this job. We are quite certain, based on the number of visits and amount of time they spent, that they did not make any profits from this job. They were always determined to fix the leak and kept going until they finally fixed this long-standing leak.There were delays due to Wellington’s unstable weather, more than usual wet days, and COVID-19, but they were excellent with replying to our queries and kept us updated all the time.There may be others who can come up with a cheaper quote, but we have come to learn that there is normally a reason why. We believe we need to pay a reasonable price for someone who can do a good job. However, it is almost impossible to find whether the job was good or not, because we don’t have enough knowledge and expertise. So, we need to rely on their professionalism and assume they do a good job. It is unfortunate to find that not all trade people are ‘professional’ in that sense. We think we are fortunate to meet the team of Paul Milne Roofing.They were punctual, courteous, cheerful, and professional. They tried to keep the noise to the minimum when I was working at home, and always left the place clean after the job.We can confidently recommend Paul Milne Roofing for your next roofing job.

The team did a roof restoration a year ago. Paul Milne took on the job after others thought the job too difficult. Great communicating with Vineta, who kept us updated with progress and always contactable. A new leak appeared with the recent storm, I contacted the team and they came out the next day, found the problem caused by the wind and rain, and fixed the issue – great response and customer service.

My call for help was answered out of business hours and a roofing expert was on site within 2 hours for assessment of leak and damage. Within hours I received a quote for repair work and photos to explain repairs needed. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable, highly recommend this business.

Communication is key, cause it took 11 months from the time of booking to actually getting the job done.I had a leak, called them in to evaluate, they gave me options and I took the decision to strip back the iron, replace all the nails, seal and repaint.They let me know it would be 3-4 months before they could start. All good. They came fix the leak, cut out any rusty bits and replace all roof nails. Winter came, lots of rain so the reseal and paint was delayed.They touched base and let me know from the get-go if I had any problems call them and they’d come out.Lots of rainy days, no leak, happy customer.Warmer sunnier weather came they were busy, asked if it’s was alright to use a subcontractor they trusted, same guarantee, because of time gone they didn’t want to delay it even more, I said sure.Guy was great, job was great, care of the customer on point

Paul Milne Roofing fixed and painted my roof almost five years ago and a few weeks ago I noticed that the paint was flaking off of the new parts of the roof that they had replaced.These things happen sometimes when you paint on new steel/tin so I called.They assured me that someone would come out to take a look and not to worry as Paul Milne would fix any problem, to which I was very pleased but also to be honest a little skeptical in this day and age.Well that someone did come out and I received a call from Paul Milne saying that they would fix the problem.A team of guys turned up and very politely told me that they had to remove all of the loose paint and that it was going to cause a mess but that they would clear it up, they were right there was a mess and they actually cleared it all up brilliantly and then because they couldn’t just paint the part that was peeling off as it wouldn’t match, they painted the whole roof! I couldn’t believe this level of service.This level of service is unheard of, I have told many people about this and an acquaintance of mine who happens to own several houses and some industrial units who really liked the story and said he would remember Paul Milne Roofing the next time he needed anything done.Highly recommended!

I was really impressed by this company, they were able to identify the issue, then repair a persistent roof leak. There were a few months delay from when I contacted them, before they could inspect, quote and repair, but the communication was good every step of the way. Whilst an expensive repair, I felt it was good value, the repair people wee professional and tidy, and the work came with a lengthy guarantee.

Totally recommend Paul Milne and the team for butynol gutters and complex flashing. We have a villa with a turret – a complex gutter formed by three walls of the square turret – intersecting the pitch of the roof. The result was a gutter on three levels. The team chose a sweet spot in the weather late autumn, (covid 19 and supply issues overcome). They removed the old iron gutter, built the new substrate and supports, flashed and sealed the roof over six days. Done in three stages, Pete was careful to make sure our house wasn’t exposed to the elements at any time.Very pleased with a complex, difficult job undertaken with care and courtesy.
